Triple Treat 웃웃웃

Let me start this entry by some words I stumbled upon on Twitter as this is actually the reason I am inspired to write today. According to studies:

People who spend more money on experiences than material items are more likely to be deep, contented and happy.
-- @UberFacts (follow them on Twitter if you want interesting, funny and unusual facts)

By "experiences", I would interpret it as life events or MOMENTS. So, if you have got some time and resources in your hands, think about quality time with family, friends and loved ones. It does not have to be grand. A little getaway, a sumptuous lunch, a well-planned dinner could be enough.

So, that being said. Let me share to you one of my MOMENTS with friends.

My yagit friends and I planned a small getaway to Dumaguete. Eversince I tasted their famous Silvannas, it attracted me to the city. This is actually my 2nd time.

We chose the "via Oslob" route but ended up riding the bus via Liloan by mistake. Hahaha! To justify that, it was actually a faster alternative. ;p

We took the 6:00AM schedule. We were the last passengers on the bus so we ended up sitting rows away from each other -with texting as our means of communication. Gracey was seated in between 2 men and was a bit scared so - being the frequent bus passenger that I was way back in college - I taught her a simple trick "play dead". That is, headphones plugged, eyes closed and sunglasses worn. Not to be sad though, in about 2 hours we were reunited as my seatmates reached their destination.
Happy faces!!

Together again!
It was only until we heard the driver shout "Liloan!!!O kinsa to pa-Dumaguete diha!!!" that we realized we were on the wrong bus. We laughed it off and carried on with the route.

Liloan Ferry Terminal
To the ferry  ≋
After arriving via Ferry. We had to take a pedicab ride to the city proper.
Front seat ;p

We arrived at around 11.30AM.

Hotel check-in is at 2:00PM so we just left our bags and grabbed lunch at Jo's Chicken Inasal.

To kill time, we strolled on their famous Rizal Boulevard (our most visited part) and stopped by our main target "Sans Rival" for dessert.
Strolling.
Sans Rival quick fix.

Finally, at 1:00PM we checked-in, had some rest (longer than agreed!), freshened up and got ready for 2nd half of Day 1.

Geli, you ready? ;p

We walked most of the time.

As Divine Lee would say "I-avail ang Kodakan!". So, photo fest it is. 8D

First stop: Rizal Boulevard (again!)

2nd stop: Siliman University
The challenge of this trip is how to always have the three of us in one picture. So, we overused the camera timer. We used our charms on security guards. Hahaha! The extend-your-hand-to-the-side-and-hope-we-all-fit trick also comes handy.

Timer.
Security Guard.
Security Guard.
Timer.
Tired from all the timer jump shots. Hahaha! (Extend-your-hand-to-the-side... trick)

3rd stop and Dinner: Robinsons Mall. We did some groceries for our little slumber pary. No pictures as we were all hungry.

Finally, last stop: Baluuuuuutttt! This is at the Rizal Boulevard by the way. Yes, again! Hahaha! But this time with the street lamps lighted.

Scouring for Balut.

Balut lovers. Triple the fun. Double the Balut! :)

SLUMBER PARTY.

Part of the plan was to have some mani-pedi. But if you have three hyperactive and diet unconscious girls in one room, this is what happens:

Another plan was movie marathon. But the moment the 1st movie (Horrible Bosses) started, one by one we slowly crawled to our bed and snoozed away. I remember waking up to the sounds of gun shots in the movie. Hahaha! So, no mani-pedi and no movie marathon just bulay-og moves, kengkoy moments and picture-picture.

DAY 2.
Early morning walk.

Breakfast at Sans Rival is one of our most-awaited part. See the outfits? We did not prepare for this ;p

Food is delish. If you happen to visit the place, do not dare miss their sans rival and silvannas. It is enough reason to go to Dumaguete.

Full and ready to pose, we headed to the Boulevard for last-minute pictures.

Then, it was time to say goodbye and go back to Cebu. Buhbye!! It was short but we sure had so much memories. The travel takes 4-5 hours (1 way) which is a lot of time but it was all a part of the fun EXPERIENCE. It does not really matter where you go, if you are with great friends, the destination is only an icing to the cake. I was blessed to have taken this trip with Geli and Gracey who are cool, funny, ironically girly but cowboy, and probably with the same wavelengths as mine. To more trips together!!!

Barge from Dumaguete to Oslob.

If I have to describe the city in one word, it would be LAIDBACK. This is where you can take your time. Walk slow. Deep breath. Endless talk. Relax! Away from the hustle of the busy Cebu city. 8D

More moments coming up. 8D

No Less than a Queen. ♛

If you are someone who is waiting. Someone who has been hurt. Someone who has loved and lost. In my case, someone who is emotera lang. Listen to this song and get carried away. Close your eyes and disregard the fact that it is from La Diva, especially if you are a true-blooded Kapamilya like me. ;P

I KNOW HE'S THERE WAITING FOR ME

How can this be
You can’t wait for me
We hoped for the best when we parted

I see you now
Loving someone else
Is she better than me

Take this pain
Off my chest
Thought our love will last

I’m hoping to find another
Someone better
Who’ll treat me like a queen

Someone who listens
Someone who cares
And takes me just as I am

I know he’s there watching over me
(I know he’s here)
He is so ready to believe in me (believe in me)
I know he’s there waiting for me (waiting for me)...

-----------
Now, now, don't hold back those tears. ;p
Good night. ☾

Feeling Expert 1! ♚

I am sharing this because I was happy it turned out fine , according to my brother who asked for more when I made him try 1 set. Honestly, I am not at all good in the kitchen, hence the title (feelingera lang gyud ko). Hahaha!

[Insert backstory here ↓]

If my memory serves me right, I was still in grade school when I remember cooking tinola with no salt for my Dad. See? I was an expert in the kitchen at a young age. Hahaha! I don't remember wanting to be a cook though, I think I was forced to. Hahaha! One time, my mom told me to fry some fish. While waiting for the oil to be ready, I watched TV and the next thing I knew she was furious because apparently I forgot about it (1st foul!). Then, I stubbornly fried them that when I served it, it didn't look like fish anymore (2nd foul). I did it on purpose so that she won't trust me in the kitchen again (ahah!brilliant idea!). But, but, but my mom is a different one, she told me that I will have to cook even more to perfect it (gaaawd!brilliant idea went down the drain!Hahaha!). It was like that until I've learned to love the kitchen eventually. Now challenge me with onion-chopping, game! Feeling expert tip: Have salt beside you when chopping onions, stare at it when you're about to cry. Oha? ;p

One more story. My mom usually travels out of town during summer breaks so I would be left with my 3 brothers since my ate attends summer classes. You know these boys, if you leave them in the kitchen, you'll be eating canton and boiled egg all your life. Hahaha! Except on days that they get in the mood to grill and we would have a little picnic in the lawn. So I experiment most of the time and they would have to endure with whatever I come up with.

Fast forward. Speaking of experiment, I wanted to make use of the ham that was given to me. That time, I was craving for club house with lotsa cheese and onions and tomatoes. So, I did some grocery and had some ideas in mind. Here goes:

Ingredients.
Personalized onion rings: dipped in egg and stir-fried.

Layering.
The best thing about making it yourself is you can have as much as you want.
More tomatoes? Onions? Cheese?

Voila! Served with chips.
Add your choice of mayo, ketchup, mustard, etc.

It was yummy and heavy on the tummy. 8D

We all have hidden "feeling expert" and even expert tips, right? Share it. Come on! Don't be shy. 8D

P.S. Notice the "1" after the "Feeling Expert" in the title? There is another one coming. Hahaha! Since I am feeling extra feelingera these days. ;p

Inspire me! ✍

A friend introduced me to an online shop for cute little things, Little Emily (click here!) You can find wallets, stationeries, accessories, organizers and office supplies at very reasonable prices. I visited the site and hoarded all the things I could have for myself. Warning: Limit yourself!!!

Here are some of my finds:

The package!

Creative boxes.

Post-its.

Coffee notebooks.

Six sets of these kind of stickers.

I also bought organizers and pretty bookmarks but wasn't able to take some pictures.

I was sooooo excited when I received the loot from the carrier who delivered it to the office. I went home thinking of what to put inside the notebooks. I get giddy, like that. I decided to use the green notebook - and in no time it was filled with doodles, scribbles and post-its.

Ka-echosan sa first page. 8D

"A Thousand Years" lyrics. (sooo highshool!)

I got so inspired by the stickers I posted on the front part ↑, I didn't realize I have an entry written on the next page. Emo much! 8D

It goes like this (excerpt):

"No matter what happens, may you always find a reason to "smile again". Certain people know the story but only you can understand the pain and the heartache that you went through. Smile ;) Know and believe that someone out there is meant for you. You deserve someone that will sweep you off your feet. Not a knight in shining armor because you are not a damsel in distress but nevertheless a prince charming whose hands will fit yours perfectly. If you've been hurt, I guess it is time for you to smile again. Smile for a different reason, smile for a different person. Let go! I love you!"

-- oh hah?may pinagdadaanan teh? Naa pay "i love you" sa ending. Hahaha! Oh how a simple "smile again" sticker made me this dramatic and there are still like a hundred of them. Good luck to me! Hahaha!

You? What inspires you? Share.

Love Love Love!

I was close to posting "You call it Valentine's day, I call it Tuesday" and "Wake me up when Feb 14 ends" on Facebook #bitterocampo. The night before that, I was thinking of sleeping through the V-day but (1) there is work and (2) my inside stuff might welga due to hunger.

Don't get me wrong, being single is gooooood. It means you don't have to worry over over possessive boyfriends. Not having someone asking you where you are every minute. No one to tell you your dress is too short, jeans too tight, shorts so skimpy and all the bawal stuff. No one to make petty to big arguments with. One thing though, being single doesn't mean you are spared from heartaches :( . I have been enjoying this single thing. You can have crushes as much as you want. You can even enjoy attention from different guys who are making ligaw. Hahaha! I kid.

So, with all that in mind, I slept and prayed that tomorrow won't be hard. The moment I woke up the next day, I've got messages from Mommy, my brothers and some friends greeting me a Happy Valentine's Day. Thank goodness the day went by fast. Hahaha!

Enough with the sulking Aden.

Kidding aside, I am happy for this year's Valentine's day. Not for myself but for my older (I like using this "older" word hah.hahaha!) sister, Nikki. Aside from being happy that this year she won't be my date anymore (hahaha!i love you!), she is finally reunited with her Balemtaym (eeeeeeyt!). I know she had been waiting for this day. First V-day date with him ever! I'm not supposed to say something about your outfit but, really?an overused tank top?aw, oopsie!did I just tell everyone? Haha! Well, it doesn't really matter what you wear because you're covered by layers of clothing and you look good in anything you wear sister (bawi moves!).

I feel that you are happy, judging from the no-complaints-loooong-travel that you had. I am happy for you because "gusto ko happy ka" ala JPE. LOL. Seriously, I am happy for you and I know I will miss you -not now, it's too soon-. I love you because you put the Clara in Mara Clara.

Don't miss us. Plan the next getaway already.

Alright, I surrender. Among the three of us, you're the one who looks at lot like mommy.

Stay pretty and be your usual hyperactive self amidst winter. ;) Happy Valentine's day!!!
