I have always wanted to post about significant people and events. It was supposed to be in time for my birthday last September as I turned 25. In true Virgo fashion, I procrastinated. So instead, allow me to give you the people of my year 2011 as inspired by Bianca Gonzales' blog.
Here goes:
Mommy/Nona - I give her my highest respect for always being strong and for raising us well.
Manong Elvin/Nong2 - my constant source of "I love you's and I miss you's".
Manang Dayling - always the giver and a great mom to my 3 nephews.
Manoy Kerwin/Winkydo - pinakaaaaaa-buotan according to mommy and I second the motion.
Kuya Intoy - always have light moments with him.
Ate Nikki - the resident planner, fashionista and chikadora.
Janjan/Jiji - my everdearest frenemy!Hahaha!
Beyond words, they can make me happy in a heartbeat.
La Familia. They will always be a part of my year.
Daddy - my confidante up to now.Mommy/Nona - I give her my highest respect for always being strong and for raising us well.

Babies. Nathan and Kecza are the newest addition to the family, both born in the year 2011, both my godchildren, both makagigil level ang cuteness. Hugs and kisses from Tita Ninang.
BMG Family. It was a semi-bumpy 2011 for us but we finished it strong. Looking forward to summer outings, christmas parties and pantry li'l parties with you guys. We're all in this together.
Accounting Team. I love that no matter how hard our job seems to be we still manage to laugh and plan little getaways just to keep us together. To Grazzz/Iring, thank you for always helping me and supporting me, thanks though usahay dili ka mang-bluetooth sa latest music (Hahaha!)Kudururu!. To Xhiela/Kim Chiu, thank you for your efforts/ideas to keep accounting together. To Gelibean, thank you for being efficient and for making us laugh with your bulay moves. To Joh, I appreciate your being transparent and cooperative. Girls, I will discuss more, meeting tomorrow, Ilaputi, your treat. Hahaha! That's it! Ai, I almost forgot our adopted accounting member, from the ICT Department, Ray Bac's. Our resident kuya, preacher and Jollibee all in one. Reprezzzent!!
The Kyms. I placed them together for an obvious reason, but they have different roles in my life and they don't even know each other.Teehee!
Kym Ashley has been my friend since college. We lived in the same compound, then same building, then eventually became roomies. We would stay awake 'til dawn in her bed decorated with onions and garlic (for some secret reasons, wahaha!), talking about our NBSB status and her little business ventures. This year, we affirmed our friendship through exchange of tweets and FB messages about love and life, since she's in not so faraway Thailand. See you soon kymyat!
Kym Astrid played a big part during my month-long training in Manila last June 2011. I went there alone with only instructions on how to get from Point A to B (4 rides by the way). Luckily, Kym Possible was to the rescue. Awwww! This girl is really friendly and bubbly. She was there for a training as well. Since she came before me, she already know the pasikut-sikut. We would ride the same jeepney to get to the MRT station and then MRT ride to our places. I love that I have someone to rant to about the tedious transpo especially when it rains (gaaaaaahh!). I love that I get to speak Cebuano in the clinic because of her. Thank you kymmie for making it easy-peasy for me. I didn't know then that you're a heartthrob here in Cebu. Hahaha!Badass!
Ate Juvy. The first friend I had on my first job. The office tables were rearranged thrice but we would always be seated right next to each other, fate. She always listens to my mostly nonsense stories and would sometimes bring me food since she knows I skip breakfast most of the time. There are times we hardly talk to each other due to our deadlines but we laugh about it afterwards. Now that I transferred to Cebu, I remember seeing her only once or twice ever since. This year, I planned to meet up with her and Kathy last November but unfortunately it was cancelled because my flight was moved from 9am to 10pm. Imagine my rage. So this is to officially say sorry to her for cancelling. ;(
Connie. I knew her since Grade 3. We were both transferees, and she was always the one who would protect me from the little meanies, boys and girls alike. We were seatmates, neighbors (as in literally stones throw away, as in I would shout to the window of her room to wake her up during simbang gabi), and distant relatives. We walk together to and from school from elementary to high school, always in the same section. We would sit above the wall in between each other's kitchens. We have this little fights and our parents would find a way to patch it up. We hardly see each other after high school since we went to different colleges and even harder when we finished schooling. It is amazing that when I saw her and her family last christmas, it was as if we just saw each other yesterday, I feel like that high school girl again. We still shout at each other in the kitchen by the way.
The Celestianos. Thank you, thank you and thank you and even that is not enough. They are the nicest. Their only girl, Kathy, was my officemate. The birthday of her mom was my 1st visit and that started it all. Eversince, I was always invited to special occasions. Then, since I could not go home on weekends, they adopted me. I was a constant in their household. It's sweet that even her Lola would look for me if I don't go there on weekends. One time while we were watching TV, I mentioned that I was craving for champorado and her mom decided to cook some (major aaaawww). I was very well taken cared of. I had a super delayed flight last November, I arrived in CDO at about 11+PM so they fetched me in the airport and let me stayed in their house again. I'm soooo lucky to have known them.
These people touched my 2011 in different ways and made me ready for the year ahead. I am not sure if it matters to them that they are a part of this but I am more than sure that I am super duper blessed to be given an opportunity to have them in this list. As I am writing this, it made me realize and appreciate them even more. There are a lot of people to be thankful for, that honest taxi driver, that cheerful saleslady, that helpful security guard, that person that have hurt you, that unexpected retweet/reply, that random handsome guy that made you smile, that chance to help...little ways but contributed to the overall bongga-gorgeous-powerful-unimaginable 2011!!! Be thankful!
Cheers to a better year ahead! ♫ We gonna party like, like it's 2012!!! ♫ Yes, it's 2012 ♫
